Galbi-jjim: traditional high-class Korean dish

Galbi-jjim: traditional high-class Korean dish

If you haven’t got familiar with Korean cuisine already, know this: Galbi-jjim is a fantastic starting point.

Galbi-jjim is Korean-style braised beef short–ribs at its finest: fatty chunks of bone-on short rib braised until tender and meant to be eaten right off the bone. When making this dish, chefs at SURA use the freshest ingredients and high-grade quality beef to ensure its rich tenderness and savoury-sweet flavour.

It’s so good, you’ll want a bowl of steamed rice to mop up remaining juices. Maybe even a little makgeolli, a fruity and lightly effervescent Korean rice wine served in a bowl, to wash it all down.

Galbi-jjim has been regarded as a traditional high-class dish that professional Korean chefs prefer to express the long history of their heritage. Today, you can experience the most authentic version of this phenomenal dish at SURA Korean Cuisine in Vancouver.
