Spicy Sliced Pork, a.k.a Jeyuk Bokkeum, is another highly popular Korean BBQ dish. Jeyuk means pork, and Bokkeum means stir-fry. Spicy flavour with a hint of smoky and sweet, it is an absolute favourite for those who love fatty pork and spicy food.
Unlike its beef counterpart, which is traditionally marinated in a soy-sauce-based sauce, pork in this dish is marinated in a Korean chili pepper paste based sauce with lots of fresh garlic and ginger.
Although any cut of pork can be used for this dish, pork shoulder or loin with some fat works best. And for those who love an acidic sweet flavour, you can add grated apple to the marinade. The apple works really well with the pork.
